A Conversation Partner gives a WESLI student a chance to practice English outside of class in an informal setting. A Conversation Partner helps a WESLI student increase their fluency through everyday conversation skills. There is less focus on error correction.
How Can Being a Conversation Partner Help You?
Being a Conversation Partner will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about a different culture. Also, if you are learning another language, you can choose to work with a WESLI student who speaks your target language fluently, and you can participate in a language exchange.
Who Are WESLI Students?
In one year, WESLI has six 8-week sessions. A WESLI Student is from one of the 25 different countries WESLI has on average each session. WESLI has had students from over 130 different countries in total. Many WESLI Students are studying English in order to go to a university or college in the U.S. Other WESLI Students are studying English for their job or for personal language development.
