Wednesday Nite @ The Lab
New Tricks for Old Ticks: Tick-borne Diseases in Wisconsin
Professor Susan Paskewitz, a medical entomologist in the Department of Entomology, guides us through the biology of deer and wood ticks, the types of tick-borne diseases that occur in Wisconsin, and current trends in tick distribution and abundance and disease prevalence. Professor Paskewitz will also delve into ongoing research on tick control and disease ecology.

Restoration Ecology in Eagle Heights Woods
Get a behind-the-scenes summer look at restoration efforts to restore the biological health of this oak woodland. Restoration efforts are being funded by the Friends of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve. Park on Wood Lane and walk to Shady Lane trailhead. Leader: Adam Gundlach. (Questions, 220-3482)

Madison Area Transportation Planning Board
There will be a public hearing on the draft Bicycle Transportation Plan for the Metropolitan Area and Dane County on Wednesday August 5, 6:30 pm before the Madison Area Transportation Planning Board at the Madison Water Utility, 119 E. Wingra Watershed Management Plan
The Friends of Lake Wingra and Wingra Boats invite you to a presentation of the Wingra Watershed Management Plan. Over the past couple of years, Strand Associates and the FOLW have worked to develop a management plan for Lake Wingra. Come to this meeting to hear the overview of the plan, and to have an opportunity to offer input before efforts switch from planning to implementation.
