ENGLISH PRACTICE

Conversation Partners
WESLI's Activities Coordinator will try to find a conversation partner for you. Conversation partnersConversation partners are usually university students who want to learn your language and can help you practice English at the same time. This is an excellent way to improve your English outside of class and make American friends.

Volunteer Opportunities
WESLI has contacts with organizations in Madison who need volunteers. There are many different opportunities which you can match with your interests. You can work with children, with the elderly, in a museum, in a garden, or with animals. This is also an excellent way to practice your English and learn about American culture.

Free Conversation Classes
WESLI has a program in which we teach Americans and high level international students how to teach English. Those future teachers need to practice their teaching with real students, so WESLI offers free classes to WESLI students and other internationals in Madison to give those future teachers the practice they need. The classes focus on conversation and don't have homework. The free conversation classes are a fun way to get extra speaking practice and meet other students.
