Luminous Scores: Reflections on Light in Art + Science

Guest artist Floor van de Velde from Boston, MA guides us through her upcoming exhibition at the Madison Science Museum entitled “Luminous Scores: Reflections on Light in Art and Science.” Tracing a trajectory of artwork that uses light to create specific conditions of viewership, Floor explores the scientific, experiential & sculptural nature of light, with emphasis on the inventions of Robert W. Wood, a UW physics professor in the 1890’s and a pioneer of infrared and ultraviolet photography.
